Abroad

What are LMT-friendly networks and why should I choose them?

LMT-friendly networks allow to save on calls abroad – we recommend to chose mobile networks marked with a :-) in countries where this option is available.

How can I save abroad?

If you have the automatic selection mode enabled, make sure that you use an LMT-friendly network marked with a :-), as well as the call-back function.

How can the visually impaired receive information about foreign tariffs?

When individuals with Group I or Group II vision impairments register in a foreign network, we can provide information about tariffs by phone – we will call from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time. These calls are FREE OF CHARGE!

This option can be activated at any LMT Customer Service Center by producing a disability certificate.

How can I choose a mobile network?

When you switch on your phone in an area with the LMT coverage, one of our networks will appear on the screen, e.g. LMT 3G or LMT.

It means that your telephone searches for networks and chooses the LMT to register with the network. LMT network is the network of your “home” operator.

When you arrive in another country, the phone performs the same steps and chooses or offers you to choose another network.

Please note!

  • In border areas networks of operators from several countries may overlap.
  • You can choose or change the network only in stand-by mode.
  • As network selection settings may differ in various models of phones, we recommend to check the instructions for use.
  • You can choose the networks automatically or manually, but we recommend to use the automatic mode. Its purpose is to ensure stable network coverage in the respective country, as well as the selection of LMT-friendly networks.

The manual mode can be used if the phone does not choose the necessary network automatically. If you choose a network manually, the telephone may not “remember” the choice and you may have to set the network several times. When your phone has successfully logged into a foreign network, the name of the respective network or its code will appear on the screen depending on the model of your phone.

What should I do if my phone with a SIM card is lost or stolen abroad?

If your phone is lost or stolen abroad, contact us immediately (24/7) by calling +371 2931 9911 or sending an e-mail to info@lmt.lv.
Remember that the police should be informed about the theft!

If someone misuses your phone, the costs will keep accruing without any notice (we encourage to report lost phones as soon as possible).

When you return to Latvia, come to the closest LMT Customer Service Center – we will give you a new SIM card.
