Our customer centre will make sure you are informed and happy with your choice. However, if you want to make your choice on your own, here are some important factors to consider when buying a new phone.

Determine your needs and budget

Before you start looking for your new phone, it's important to consider what features are most important for you and how much you are ready to pay. Consider how often you use your phone for calls and texts, and how often you use the internet for entertainment. Take into account whether you need a high-resolution camera and long battery life. Once you understand the features you want and your usage habits, determine your desired budget.

General phone features

  • Operating system: Android, iOS, Windows Phone
  • Screen: size and weight, resolution, screen technology (LCD, OLED, AMOLED)
  • Battery capacity: 3,000 mAh to 7,000 mAh
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS
  • Additional features: when choosing a phone, it's useful to look at the additional features that would be useful in your daily life, and whether they fit in with your lifestyle, such as facial recognition, wireless charging, waterproofing and dust resistance.

Processor and memory

  • Operating frequency. Indicates the processor's operational speed. A higher operating frequency means faster phone performance.
  • RAM (GB). Indicates the amount of temporary memory your phone uses to store applications and data – during use.
  • Internal memory (GB). Indicates the place of storage in your phone's internal memory (for photos, videos, music, apps and other data). When choosing internal memory, consider how much data you plan to store on the phone itself.
  • External memory. Some phones offer the possibility to expand memory using microSD cards. It can be useful if you need more space for data storage.

Camera performance

  • Megapixels (MP) of the camera module. Megapixels indicate the resolution of the camera sensor. Higher megapixel cameras are generally able to capture more detailed images, but this is not the only factor that determines the image quality.
  • Sensor size. Larger sensor size allows to capture more light, which can improve the image quality, especially in low-light conditions.
  • Aperture. Aperture indicates the amount of light transmitted into the sensor. Lower f/ number (e.g. f/1.8) means a larger aperture and better performance in low-light conditions.
  • Additional features. For example, night mode, wide-angle mode, portrait mode.

What's the difference - mobile phones and smartphones

Although the terms 'mobile phone' and 'smartphone' are often used interchangeably, there are essential differences between these devices.

Mobile phone

  • Simple equipment for voice calls and text messages
  • Usually equipped with a smaller screen and limited features compared to smartphones
  • Mostly without access to the internet or application downloading function
  • Cheaper than smartphones

Smartphone

  • Multifunctional devices that combine phone functions with PC capabilities
  • Larger screens and a wide range of features, including internet access, application downloading function, photo and video capturing functions
  • Works with modern operating systems such as Android or iOS
  • More expensive than mobile phones
  • LMT offers a wide range of smartphones from different brands and price ranges, as well as convenient instalment plans and quality customer service. Choose the offer that suits you best!

Phones on instalment plans without a down payment

LMT offers the possibility to buy smartphones and mobile phones on favourable instalment terms, by paying for the device gradually. Choosing this option means you don't have to pay the entire amount at once and monthly payments are easier to plan.
If you have been an LMT customer for more than 3 months, buy a phone without a down payment!
This option allows you to buy a new device without an initial down payment, by splitting the purchase amount into monthly payments together with your mobile phone bill.
