What is smart e-marketing?
Choices made by our customers we put first, and modern technology tools help us to make the most of it. An amount of information in everyday communication in e-mails keeps increasing. Although mostly this information is necessary and useful, it may not seem interesting or attractive to a particular recipient. Thus, the situation may arise that the recipient can miss the attractive and long-awaited information. In order to improve the communication and to inform the customer in the most transparent manner, like other European and global merchants do, the informative and offer emails we send may contain a smart solution that enables us to get a reply, for example, if email has not been delivered successfully, including if the email address does not exist or there were disturbances on the recipient's server; to get a message of whether the e-mail has been received and was it possible to open and view it; is the link to the information or offer contained in our e-mail activated and are there any offer-related activities, such as purchase or order etc., carried out; whether the recipient has marked the information as uninteresting (spam) or has decided to completely refuse further receipt of our offers. Interactive communication allows us to adapt quickly to the needs and wishes of the customer without wasting his/her time with less interesting content or, on the contrary, by paying additional or repeated attention, if some important message has not been viewed and/or replied for a longer time.

We use the smart solution only if the customer has given his/her consent. The customer can give us his/her consent to receive information and offers in any form, for example, in the Customer Service Centre or remotely. Furthermore, the consent to receive offers may be easily withdrawn at any time without affecting the processing done before the withdrawal. In case of withdrawal, the customer has the opportunity to change his/her mind at any time and apply again. Acceptance of offers is a completely free choice of the customer, provision or non-provision of it does not affect business obligations, but can reduce the benefits of smart communication capabilities.

The smart solution applies only to emails sent by LMT. In any case, we do not have access to information about the content of other senders' e-mails or other information in the recipient's e-mail.

We take the utmost care for the processing of personal data. Find out more about personal data issues and the Privacy Policy.

You can also correct information about the current phone. If you convey your phone to another individual, please inform us so that we can implement these changes and fulfill the wishes of the new user. Withdrawal will apply to further processing, but will not affect the completed processing activities. Consenting and withdrawing are voluntary and do not impose additional obligations.

Subscription to news serves as a confirmation that you have read this information and agree that the LMT, acting as a controller, processes your data pursuant to your consent – telephone number, if provided, e-mail and other contact details to contact you by phone and a text message and, if additionally provided,  by an e-mail with smart e-marketing to offer various services, incl. news, hot topics, individual greetings from the LMT and surveys.

Data processing in case of invoice deadline extension and review of payments
The customer’s application for the extension of invoice deadline and/or review of payments is also the customer’s consent to the processing of his/her personal data to examine a specific issue. In order to assess the customer’s ability to meet his/her obligations in long term, in the event of the application for invoice deadline extension and review of payments the existing cooperation data may be processed, as well as credit information data from third party databases may be received and processed, including debt history information, as well as information on credit ability and credit rating to find the most suitable solution for the customer and to ensure proper management of his/her liabilities.

The basis of data processing is the examination of application in respect of the payment related to the transaction and legitimate interests of the parties. In some cases, required by law, the customer may have an opportunity to give his/her consent to additional data processing, if necessary, in the framework of the respective issue.

The customer has the right to withdraw the given consent at any time by contacting LMT until the processing of personal data (until the application is reviewed). Withdrawal of the consent does not affect the processing of personal data carried out before the withdrawal of consent.

The customer also has the right to object to the processing of personal data carried out based on legitimate interest, informing LMT about his/her objections. In this case, please note that the examination of the application may be postponed until the customer’s objection is examined or it may take additional time and an additional information from the customer may be required that would allow in any other form to verify the validity of the request contained in the application and further execution of obligations in good faith.

It is important for us to take care of every customer before entry into the transaction and during the later cooperation, evaluating each application submitted by the customer individually. It allows to find the most suitable solution for every situation, as well as to protect the customer from hasty postponement of payments.

Please note that the extension of payments does not reduce the total amount of liabilities and is not an appropriate solution for customer relationship management routine, it is only an exception to the emergency to provide support to the customer whenever it is an objective necessity.

We highly evaluate every customer who continues to fulfil his/her obligations on time, but if help is really needed, feel free to contact us in a timely manner – we are together with our customers at such times as well. Our capacity, of course, is not infinite, we will try primarily to help those who need it the most, and we especially appreciate the time when you so far have been responsible and loyal customers. Thanks to everyone for that!

For more information on our data protection measures and the customer rights to submit requests, including objections on data protection issues, read LMT Privacy Policy.
Data processing in case of a credit limit transaction

Taking care of the customer's ability to fulfil his/her obligations in the long term within the credit limit transactions (e.g., when choosing a service, receiving or purchasing a device), the customer's creditworthiness can be checked by evaluating the data of the customer's and LMT's cooperation so far and information from third-party credit information databases. The creditworthiness may also be checked if an additional issue related to the conclusion of a transaction is added, changes are made during the validity term of the existing agreement (including in connection with the extension of the invoice term) or additional services that increase credit risk are purchased. Such data processing is conducted on a transaction basis in order to be able to determine the most appropriate transaction amount for the customer and to enable the customer to meet his/her obligations in the long term.

In addition, the customer has the opportunity to give his/her consent to data processing also from third-party debt history databases – this enables even more accurate assessment of the most suitable solution for a particular customer. Consent can be easily revoked at any time by informing LMT and without affecting the data processing performed until the time of revocation of consent.

In order to assess the customer's true creditworthiness, it may be necessary to check third-party databases as regards customer's representation, incl. authorized persons and officials. We perform such processing if consent has been obtained.
This consent may be given in the context of a specific transaction or, in order to secure transactions even faster, in the context of future cooperation. We remind you that consent can be easily managed at My LMT –> Profils (Profile) –> Piekrišanas (Consents). Giving of consent is a confirmation that the customer and the persons associated with the customer's representation are informed about the data processing performed by LMT for the purpose of concluding and securing the customer's transactions.

If the creditworthiness is insufficient or negative, the transaction may be refused, or a smaller credit amount may be secured. We care about long-term cooperation with the customer, as well as that the concluded obligations meet the customer's needs and do not cause difficulties in fulfilling them, so we do whatever necessary for any customer who wants to receive credit limit-related services to make informed choices. Our customer advisors are always at the customer's disposal so that together they can find the most suitable solution. Besides – so as not to be discouraged by the refusal of a long-term contract, if any – please be informed you that it does not in any way restrict the customer to choose our products by making a full payment. In LMT Customer Service Centres and e-store we offer a wide range of products suitable for every customer's needs and taste.

The purpose of such data processing is to evaluate and predict the customer's ability to fulfill obligations in the event of transactions related to the credit limit of devices. When processing the customer's personal data for creditworthiness assessment, we will, for example, perform automated processing of information that is legally available to us in external databases and results from the existing contractual obligations of the customer and LMT, in some cases – previous cooperation. The automated decision-making solution processes, for example, a person's credit assessment data (credit rating). As a result of such data processing, the provision of certain services may be refused, but the customer always has the opportunity to provide LMT with information in another way, which substantiates the ability to fulfill the obligations of the selected transaction.

If the customer finds the answer provided incomplete, including the refusal to conclude a transaction, for example, in case of insufficient credit information, the customer has the opportunity to request the involvement of our specialists in the assessment of the situation. In this case, we will invite you to submit a written request, attaching information that would enable to re-evaluate the possibilities of cooperation. Our specialists will consider each such request individually and provide an answer.

When processing personal data, we comply with the requirements of laws and regulations, as well as the principles of protection of data subjects and consumers, including in the field of responsible lending.
